CARD NO. 3 - SWEET SORBET DSP

Card No. 3 for the Sweet Sorbet DSP.

A very simple and easy card to create.  I had some scraps of the DSP from other projects I had completed and also a base card in Smoky Slate already prepared which I hadn't used, so I decided to go with these.  This is what I came up with.

I really loved the spotty DSP paper which I had also used in my scrapbook page just recently so I decided this would be the basis of my card and I then just co-ordinated the colours with the coloured spots.  Easy to do when you have DSP that all co-ordinates really well together.

Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration are Here

Yay, it is finally here and we can start ordering from the new Occasions Catalogue and earning FREE products in the Sale-a-Bration promotion at the same time.

There are just so many gorgeous products to choose from and I am looking forward to sharing with you some more of the new projects I have created with both the products from the Occasions Catalogue and the FREE Sale-A-Bration products.

I surprised myself with my favourite stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue being Petal Parade.   I wasn't sure I would like it as I didn't think I would have much use for it.

Well I have to say I was so wrong.  I have now used this set so much creating not only cards but also in my scrapbooking.

My favourite stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue would have to be Peaceful Petals.  Such a pretty set which you can watercolour and I have also been using this set quite a bit.

I will be choosing one stamp set or product from the catalogues and showing you a few samples that I have created with them every couple of days.  So keep posted.

My Chinese Card Class

We have just finished hosting two teachers from China who were over here for a tour for 10 days.  They were the loveliest girls and we really enjoyed their stay with us.

They were very fascinated with all my craft items and really wanted me to teach them to make something while they were here.

Thought I would share the result of our a little class together.  One of the cards was going to be given to a friend of theirs who was celebrating their birthday whilst here.

I had so much fun teaching the girls.  They had very limited english but with a lot of laughter and just showing them what to do it all came together very well.

They were very excited when they got to stamp their flowers and then punch them out.  They needed to take photos of everything we did.

Finished card being given to their friend.

They wanted to take a photo home of myself as the teacher and them with their creations.

Such a fun time and sad to see them leave.

Mixed Media Tag

My first ever mixed media project.

I have created this mixed media tag for a swap I am taking part in for the Scrapbooking Club Brisbane.  I have never created anything mixed media before so I was a little bit apprehensive but I have to say it was a lot of fun.

Lots of bits and pieces from my stash of goodies along with stamping and embossing.

Hope my tag swap partner likes it.

The Paper Players Challenge #179

Today I am sharing the card I created for the The Paper Players Challenge.

This was a challenge where we had to create a one layer only Valentine card.

I found it so hard sticking to just the one layer, somehow just doesn't seem enough.

I started with a base card of white and then just basically stamped the hearts from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set in the colours of Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.

It seemed a little too plain to me so I added in some light stamping of some stamps from Gorgeous Grunge - my favourite stamps for creating backgrounds.

What do you all think?  Do you like Clean and Simple with only one layer, or are you a layers girl.  I can definitely say, I like my layers.

It was a very quick and easy card to put together once I decided on which stamps and colours I wanted to use and it would be easy to create many different cards just by changing the colours.

Products used:

Whisper White Cardstock
Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set (Product No 131922 for wood mount - $44.95 or Product No. 129252 for clear mount - $35.95)
Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set (Product No. 130514 for wood mount - $42.95 or Product No. 130517 for clear mount - $33.95)
Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set (Product No. 128577 for wood mount - $65.95 or Product No. 120501 for clear mount - $52.95)
Strawberry Slush Stamp Pad - Product No. 131178 - $9.95
Coastal Cabana Stamp Pad - Product No. 131175 - $9.95

Pixels and Paper Challenge

Today I would like to share with you a scrapbook page which I have created for the January Challenge for the Pixels and Paper Challenge Blog where my lovely friend and team member Heidi is now a Design Team Member.

These were photos of my niece having fun one summer day which seemed the perfect photos for the theme of the challenge.

For this layout I used some of the free Sale-a-Bration paper as the base and backed the photos in Basic Black and Coastal Cabana (both colours are in the background paper and went well with the photos).

It is a bit difficult to tell from the photo but I stamped my own border in Coastal Cabana using another free product from Sale-a-Bration.  A different use for the Petal Parade stamp set.  Who said a flower had to be a flower.   I also stamped a couple of sentiments to add to the layout.

I have created the tag with the new Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and embellished with some die cut buttons (now retired).  On my photo you will also see that I have added some of the new Retro Fresh This and That Washi Tape available in the new Occasions Catalogue.

I finished off the page with some brads and completed the title with some Black Thickers Alphabets which I found when I was cleaning out my craft room recently.

Mojo Monday Challenge No. 329

Well I think I am doing extremely well with my New Year's Resolutions so far.

Third week in a row for completing the Mojo Monday Card Challenges.

For this card I wanted to  try out some of the new  Washi Tape which will be available in the new Occasions Catalogue as well as one of my favourite new stamp sets from the new Catalogue - Peaceful Petals.

I had decided on a very simple colour scheme which is used in  the beautiful Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.

Although this stamp is great to watercolour I wasn't feeling like water colouring today.

Instead of having the circle in the middle, as per the sketch, I decided to just attach the flowers.  I stamped the flowers twice and fussy cut the middle part and raised with dimensionals  to give the flowers more interest.

The sentiment used is also from the Peaceful Petals Stamp Set and was punched with a circle punch.  Some small pearls were attached to the centres of the flowers to finish off.

Products used:

Cardstock - Basic Black and Very Vanilla
Modern Medley Designer Series Paper (Item No. 126926 - $18.95 for 12 sheets)
Peaceful Petals Stamp Set (Item No. 133104 woodmount - $49.95 or Item No. 133107 clearmount - $39.95) - available in new Occasions Catalogue from 28 January 2014
Watercolour Wonder Designer Washi Tape (Item No. 133000 - $8.95) available in new catalogue
Ink Pad - Black Stazon Ink Pad  (Item No. 101406) - $13.95
1" Circle Punch - (Item No. 119868) - $18.95
1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch (Item No. 127811) - $27.95
Small pearls from my own collection

MOJO MONDAY CARD SKETCH CHALLENGE NO. 328 and PAPER PLAYERS CHALLENGE 178

I am feeling very pleased with myself.

I have finished another Card Challenge.   My second card challenge for the year.

This time I decided to combine two challenges together being the current Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 328 and  the current The Paper Players Challenge #178

In the  Mojo Monday Challenge you had to create a card from the sketch and Paper Players required us to use the following colours - Primrose Petals, Pear Pizzazz, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry.

I really wasn't too sure about the colour combination as I find I really don't use Primrose Petals much and I am not a big fan of Crushed Curry.  However, I am really pleased with the results.  Used another stamp set and a die cut from the upcoming new Occasions catalogue.

Envelope Punch Board

Well I was finally able to get out my Envelope Punch Board which I did receive just before Christmas but haven't had any time to play with it.

I have seen so many samples of these cute file folder cards about on Pinterest that I knew I had to give it a go.

This is my version using the very cute Flower Stamp Set and Punch which will be available from the 28th January along with some new Washi Tape - just love the colours in this new Washi Tape.

I actually stuck down the side of the card and then created a little insert to go inside which is where I also stamped the sentiment.  This is the view of the inside.  Again, some more of my favourite colours Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar with Very Vanilla Cardstock.

If you would like your own copy of the new Occasions catalogue, please let me know and I will get one out to you straight away.  Only another 15 days until you can start purchasing some of these beautiful products.

Another Sneak Peek

I have been having fun playing around with my new goodies.

These next couple of cards I have used another new stamp set from the new catalogue and the FREE Banner Blast Stamp Set from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue.

I have combined these with the gorgeous papers in the new Paper Stack.  Again, when I am allowed to reveal all I shall advise all the products used in these two cards. But for now, just enjoy.

Love these colours together - Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Whisper White

I created this card as a fancy fold card, just for something different.

MOJO MONDAY CARD CHALLENGE NO 327

Okay I am on a roll.  I thought while I am busy creating new samples with some of the gorgeous new goodies I have just received in my order I may as well combine this with some challenges as well.

So this one is for Mojo Monday Challenge 327.  This is the sketch we needed to follow.

And here is my version.

A couple of new products used here but I shall be back to tell you a bit more about them soon.

Scrapbook Club Brisbane - January Challenge

My first scrapbook page for the year.

So far so good with the New Years resolutions.

This one is for the January Challenge of the Scrapbooking Club Brisbane run by my good friend and one my team members Heidi.

We had to create a layout using this sketch as well as having  one handmade embellishment, one die cut or chipboard and something metallic.

I had a lot of fun creating this page and got to use up a few bits and pieces of chipboard that were non Stampin'Up! but I really loved.

Sale-a-Bration - Banner Blast Card No. 3

My third card using the Banner Blast FREE stamp set I have also partly cased from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue.  Again another really simple one layer card using Whisper White card stock as the base.  Both the top and the bottom of the card have been randomly stamped with three of the Banner Blast stamps.  The sentiment again comes from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set.

SALE-A-BRATION

My next card I cased from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue.  Can't wait until I can hand the catalogues out to you all.  Anyway, I thought this one was so very simple and cute.  I don't think my photo does this card justice, but you will see how sweet it is when you have the Sale-a-Bration catalogue in your hands.  It is a one layer card.  I did use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure I got my stamping in the right spot.  This tool is a must have if you really want to make sure your stamping is spot on.

So to create this card I again basically stamped onto a Whisper White card and added the cool Calypso Coral baker's twine on the side.

Products used:

Product No. 106549 Whisper White Cardstock - $14.95 for pack of 40
Product No. 131176 Crisp Cantaloupe Inkpad - $9.95

Stamp-a-ma-jig - Product No. 101049 - $20.95

FREE SALE-A-BRATION STAMP SET - BANNER BLAST
Product No. 133551 for Wood Mount or Product No. 133554 for Clear Mount

SALE-A-BRATION SAMPLES

So far I have had a little play with my Banner Blast Stamp Set and co-ordinating punch.

This is my first card.

A simple card using a Whisper White base.  I have stamped around the edges with the edges of two of the banner stamps in the colours of Baked Brown Sugar and Pistachio Pudding.  I have also stamped the small star randomly on the background in Pistachio Pudding.  Sentiment has been stamped in Pistachio Pudding and overstamped in Baked Brown Sugar.  Banner has been created by stamping and punching three of each design and then adhered to the card with dimensionals.  Finished off with a small star in the middle and baker's twine bows on the ends.  The sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set available in the Annual Catalogue.

Products used to create this card:

Whisper White Cardstock (Product No. 106549) - 40 sheets for $14.95
Pistachio Pudding Ink Pad (Product No. 1431177) - $9.95
Baked Brown Sugar Ink Pad (Product No. 131174 - $9.95
