Close Up of the Cards in the Previous Post

Now that I have been able to wrestle the cards away from Annabell here is a close up of the two cards.

This first card is a case of any number of cards I have seen in this style recently.  Just love that Twitterpated DSP.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Island Indigo, Whisper White, Pool Party, Twitterpated DSP, Punches - Boho Blossoms, Blossom and Word Window, Under the Big Top Stamp Set (just inked up the words Thinking of You), Pearls

This second card is one of the cards we created in our April Fancy Folds Class.  It looks very involved, but it is actually a reasonably easy card to create.

As an extra we also punched out three Modern Labels and mounted them on top of the punched Blossom adding an extra petal layer (another technique I have seen surfing the web).

We also cut out some of the flowers from the DSP and adhered to the vintage tag.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Riding Hood Red, Twitterpated DSP, Punches - Blossom, Modern Label, Circles, Jewellery Tag, Vintage Tags, Hemp Twine, "Hello" stamp from Pennant Parade Stamp Set, Seam Binding Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze

Little Kitty-Kat Helper

Thought I would share with you today some photos of our beautiful kitty-kat Annabell who thinks she is such a great helper when it comes to taking photos of my cards to load onto my blog.

She thinks she makes a great prop and of course she really wasn't about to chew on the corner of that card.  She also likes to closely inspect things just to make sure that everything is exactly where it should be and perhaps if there is a bit of loose ribbon it might be an opportunity to tidy it up with a game of chew or chase.

She just loves to be around when I am creating and quite often she will be sleeping on chair next to me or somewhere in the middle of the scrap table.  Just last week during class she made herself comfortable by lying on the table where all the prepped cards were as well as keeping anyone's chair warm (if they made the mistake of getting up to do some die cutting).

Supplies used:   One very cute little "Annabell"

Fancy Folds Card Class

These are two of the cards we created in our April "Fancy Folds Card Class".   We actually created 3 cards but for some reason I am having so much trouble getting the photo of the third card to load properly that I have given up for now.

Our first card was created using the new Labels Collection Framelits Dies.  I followed a tutorial I found on the internet, although now I can't find the same one, however, I have added a link to another tutorial Flip Card which will help.

These flip cards are really easy, but look stunning.  You can make them as fancy or as simple as you like.  I forgot to take a photo of the inside where we also affixed a pink die cut label which we had stamped with the same flower image from the front.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Island Indigo, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Twitterpated DSP, Clearly for You Stamp Set, Pink Pirouette Inkpad, Island Indigo Inkpad & Marker, Lucky Limeade Marker, Labels Collection Framelits Die, Dotted Scallop ribbon Border Punch, Pretty in Pink 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

This cute little gatefold card was created for Mother's Day although it would be suitable for any occasion, just change your sentiment.  This card measured 4" x 4".

Again, such an easy card to create but looks really special.  We sponged all of the edges with Soft Suede ink.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla, Sale-a-Bration DSP (nla), Poppy Parade and Soft Suede Inkpads, Dies - Labels Collection Framelits, Perfect Pennants and Scalloped Heart of Hearts, Word Window Punch, Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set

Sketches with a Twist - May Challenge

Finally got back to doing a scrapbook challenge with Sketches with a Twist.  This is the sketch and the twist was you had to sew somewhere on your layout either with hand stitching or machine stitching.  I really liked the look of this sketch so had to give it a go.

And here is my layout.  I used Twitterpated DSP again and handmade all my flowers and rosettes out of satin ribbon or the new pleated ribbon - love that red colour.  I even covered a button myself - next time I will stamp on the material before I cover the button.  Hard to see in the photo but I did do some hand stitching around the Title circle and the square on the left hand side using Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.  No stamping on this one but I did use my dies, punches and white gel pen.  Hope you all enjoy my layout.

Supplies used:  Twitterpated DSP, Cardstock - Riding Hood Red and Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon, Basic Gray Satin Ribbon,  Circle Scissors, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, White Gel Pen, Eyelet Border Punch, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet, Beautiful Wings and Swirls Scribbles Dies, Paper Piercing Tool (Covered Button and Pearls were from my own stash).

Just Finished Creating 20 Gift Bags

Well I have finally finished creating 20 gift bags for a "Ladies High Tea" function being held on the weekend.  I still have to fill them with choccies and goodies but here is a little sneak peak of what they look like now.'

This is a close up of the bag topper which  I  cased from my upline Petronela.  The ladies I am creating the gift bags for just loved this design.

Supplies:  Cardstock - Soft Suede and Whisper White, Top Note Die,  Stamp Sets - Vintage Vogue and Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Inkpads - Soft Suede, Daffodil Yellow and Versamark, White Embossing Powder and non SU brads.

A Cute Little Card I Love

I would like to share with you today a card we created in our recent Stamp Club.  I saw a similar card in our Stampin'Up! Impressions Magazine which I find as a demonstrator is fantastic for showing me lots of new and interesting things.

The technique I used (if you look very closely) is using the Oval Designer Frame with the Labels Collection Framelit Die on the first layered die.  It gives it such a lovely extra textured look.  My little flower I created using the Boho Blossoms Punch - again a punch I use all the time.

Supplies used:  Cardstock - Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Brights Collection DSP (Daffodil Yellow), Clearly for You Stamp Set, Soft Suede Inkpad, Punches - Boho Blossom and Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Labels Collection Framelits Dies, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Early Espresso Bakers Twine

Sweet Dreams Scrapbooking Page

It seems like months have gone by since I went away for my weekend scrapbooking retreat (in truth it was only about 3 weeks ago).  Thought I would share with you today one of the pages I actually did manage to complete.  I loved how sweet and girly this page turned out.  Unfortunately, the only items I used that were Stampin'Up! was the Pink Striped Ribbon and the two Diamante Brads in my title.  As it wasn't a Stampin'Up! scrapbook retreat I did feel a bit guilty whenever I pulled out anything that was non CM.

I loved these photos of my daughter.  She insisted that she wasn't tired and would be reading for a long time.  As I suspected, when I next checked on her the book was still open but the eyes were very closed.  I'm sure she was dreaming of whatever she had been reading about - probably ponies, puppies, kittens or fairies.
